The beginning - A bamboo dream
‘ Bamboo’bike was born in my garage
Just after graduating from engineering school, Tony set a new challenge for himself: to create a 100% bamboo bicycle frame. He then spent a year doing tests, working on bamboo, and developing an innovative solution called ©SOBEN-composite.
What better way to prove to you what #bamboopower can endure? Than by driving continuously, day after day, from country to country…
On September 18, 2016, Tony began the France – Cambodia journey.
The objective: to ride autonomously for more than 15,000 km with Bamboo’bike, a tent, a stove and tools – about 35 kg of luggage!
The strength of the ©SOBEN-composite has been demonstrated as after two years of roads and paths that have taken it through the Himalayas, the bike has not weakened.
In fact, it has been very robust, enduring snow, rain, wind, 45°C of dry heat, 98% of humidity, mud, ruts…
On August 3, 2018, the trip ended in Phnom Penh. But the adventure continues!

Cambodia is the ancestral land of bamboo culture and processing. This proximity allows us to be inspired by local knowledge and to collaborate with bamboo experts.
Cambodia having lost 75% of its forest area in the last three decades, the use of bamboo is an alternative solution to deforestation. We are part of the movement to continuously innovate and diversify the uses of bamboo.

Soben-composite is the wonderful combination of bamboo fibers and resin.
After three years of research and development, we invented the Soben-composite. It has a high flexibility allowing it to adapt to composite process standards without modifying manufacturing methods.
The ©SOBEN-composite can be applied to an infinite numbers of areas.
Research and development
Our R&D work is now aimed at setting up a production unit to continue improving the characteristics of the ©SOBEN-composite.
We also carry out advanced research on the use of 100% bio sourced resins and recycled plastics for an even more positive ecological and social impact.

This is the motto that guides Tony, a young engineer from Nantes with many projects in mind. Inventor, tenacious and above all, with unfailing optimism, he likes to tackle challenges and seemingly unrealistic goals. He is the creator of the ©SOBEN-composite, the tireless traveller of Au bambou de mes rêves and the founder of SOBEN.

Versatility is her key word!
With her entrepreneurial, project and event management background, she has the drive to plan it and the experience to successfully implement it!
Her role in the SOBEN project: to maximize our productivity so that we can determine our strategy and launch our first crowdfunding. She is passionate about all kinds of sports and she will be the crash-tester of SOBEN products!

Un rêve de bambou
‘ Bamboo’bike, il est né dans mon garage
Tout juste après l’obtention de son diplôme d’ingénieur, Tony se lance un défi : réaliser un cadre de vélo 100% bambou. Il passe alors un an à faire des essais, travailler le bambou, et développer une solution innovante : le ©SOBEN-composite.
Pour vous prouver le #bamboopower, il le met à l’épreuve. Quoi de mieux alors que de rouler sans arrêt, jour après jour, de pays en pays ?
Le 18 septembre 2016, Tony entame l’aventure France – Cambodge.
L’objectif : rouler en autonomie sur plus de 15 000 km avec Bamboo’bike, une tente, un réchaud et des outils, soit 35 kg de bagages !
Le test du vélo est validé : après deux ans de routes et de chemins jusque dans l’Himalaya, le ©SOBEN-composite n’a pas faibli.
Bien au contraire il a été d’une robustesse et d’un confort à toute épreuve : neige, pluie, vent, 45°C de chaleur sèche, 98% d’humidité, boue, ornières…
Le 3 août 2018, le voyage s’est terminé à Phnom Penh. Mais l’aventure continue !

Le Cambodge ayant perdu 75% de sa surface forestière ces trois dernières décennies, l’utilisation du bambou est une alternative à la déforestation. Nous nous inscrivons dans ce mouvement d’innovation et de diversification d’utilisations du bambou.

Nos travaux de R&D visent désormais à mettre en place un outil de production et à continuer à améliorer les caractéristiques du ©SOBEN-composite.
Nous réalisons aussi des recherches avancées sur l’utilisation de résines 100% bio-sourcées et de plastiques recyclés pour un impact écologique et social encore plus positif.

C’est ce leitmotiv qui guide Tony, jeune ingénieur originaire de Nantes et plein de projets en tête. Inventeur, persévérant et surtout doté d’un optimisme sans faille, il aime se lancer des défis et des challenges. C’est lui le créateur du ©SOBEN-composite, le voyageur infatigable d’Au bambou de mes rêves et le fondateur de SOBEN.

La polyvalence c’est son maître mot !
De formation entrepreneuriale, gestion de projets et événementiel, elle a de l’énergie à revendre et l’expérience pour les mettre en œuvre !
Son rôle dans le projet SOBEN : décupler notre force de travail pour pouvoir déterminer notre stratégie et élargir notre réseau de partenaires. Et pour l’anecdote, passionnée de sports en tous genres, elle sera la crash-testeuse des produits SOBEN !
